LesbianismThis is a featured page

Last week there was a big fuzz in the media about a Lesbian teacher in Takoradi Polytech, who was fired because she "converted students to Lesbianism". Even chief editors of certain newspapers agreed with this statement in a radio talkshow. He even stated that "the human rights organisations would probably disagree with him". Damned sure they would. How can a person who claims to be an intellectual, a chief editor, adhere to these ludicrous ideas that someone who is not a lesbian can be "converted" into lesbianism. Maybe it is the word itself: "lesbianism" where the "ism" suggests that it is a religion or an ideology into which someone can (by free choice) be converted or convinced.
This is total ********: A lesbian is born a lesbian and no heterosexual can ever be "converted" to become one.
Just as a horse can not be converted to be a dog.
Maybe someone can be enticed (for benefits) to go along in sexual acts that is against their nature, but someone who is not a Lesbian can never change into a lesbian. It is impossible. Maybe a person who is lesbian but was not aware of it or was surpressing her feelings because of social pressure, can become aware of her true feelings and admit to her lesbian sexuality (but it had to be in there before it could come out).
And maybe someone can find out that she is bi-sexual: enjoy the sex from both sides; bisexuality is even a more "mysterious and confusing" sexuality as it is even less scientifically explored and less clear cut issue.

But to come back to the case of Takoradi: just because their preoccupation with the fact that a woman is having sex with a woman, they are completely missing the case: it is not so much a problem that the woman is having sex with (I assume adult) women, but that a teacher is misusing her power and forgetting her protective responsibilities towards students, to get her own sexual desires satisfied, unrespectively of whether she is doing it with female or male students. It seems that everyone would find it perfectly OK if she would have been forcing boys to have sex with her. Or male teachers forcing girls to have sex with them. That is the perversion of the case. Many people in Ghana seem to have their morals mixed up.
