Are activists in the West helping or hindering LGBT people in Africa. Is South Africa a beacon of hope or an exceptional case. What do the events in Africa mean for all LGBT people around the world. All these questions and more will be the focus of debate and performance at this unique event created by the Black LGBT community in London.

Hello Brother and Sister. Am Opa_Ghana , new at this site but today my top pick which I want to attract discussion is what makes you think to be gay. Do you feel for the same sex sexually, like lust for the same sex? Do you move on better with the opposite sex than the same sex? And have your ever had sex with the same sex before and would you like to continue? For me i do really have lust for guys sexually, and I did have this feelings when I was little guy, but I had it before I was raped? Mmmm why was I raped I think am the course some how and sometimes I think he did bad too me but now as I talk to my Brother and sister (lesbians and gays) I feel really relief and I think he raped me because he is gay, not for his sexually satisfaction, the gay rapist got married to a lady and now he is fighting for divorce with his innocent wife, My fist guy the rapist cant move on well with ladies and his wife is not the first gay he have try to settle down with, but why do you think he marry the opposite sex, is because of the society the culture of Ghana, Are you going to let the society rule your sexual feelings? My first time I had rape from him, ever since every night I sleep with him I love to have sex actually make love with him continuously till le left the country, and ever since I love to have sex with guys and men. Hahaha What are your vies too Brothers and sister |

D'ya miss me?
No? Well I missed y'all. It's been rough this few months. I've been worked out, cursed out, overworked, underpaid, slapped, trapped, frustrated, sick, late, behind the eight ball, up **** creek without a paddle, and way down in the jungle deep. And right now, I'm typing this from my room(ooh yeah, got free wireless now)on Christmas politely not giving a **** about a lot of things. Besides, I've got plans for 2010 to turn my life around. It's been stuck in neutral for a minute, and this year, it actually started going in reverse. I've gotta put this ***** into overdrive and make things happen. So to you and yours, Merry Christmas and all that rot.

Hello everybody! Being a fervent fan of the beauty of black boys and men,it is unnerving to read about the scams that particularly older U.S. or E.U. men fall subject to by gangs of poor, desperate young boys in Ghana and elsewhere...Well,one always has to be careful in life,no?! One thing that I find difficult is,to find out if these boys are gay at all???!!! No sense to build a relationship with a guy who is hetero and usues you just to get ahead in life..Understandable maybe, but then it is better to go to an escort where there is no follow up..Anyway,as I am in the middle of a relationshipit puzzles me sometimes and i would like to know how others deal with this... Love to you all...

Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone wanted to talk about your experiences in Ghana. Are you out to your family and friends or do you feel a lot of pressure to stay closeted? Do you have other friends who are GLBT as well? What is dating like there? I imagine it must be difficult to meet other GLBT people. Are you involved in any groups? As I mentioned in an earlier post I am bisexual. I came out at about 16 yo (I'm 30 now). I'm from a small town, so some people were very intolerant. But in college I met a lot of gays and lesbians and a few bisexuals. My college had a gay-straight alliance. I always had trouble meeting same sex partners, so I had very few relationships with women. Now I'm married to a Ghanaian and I'm afraid of what his family would think of me if they knew. He knows. I've been warned that they would not be accepting. I don't know if I'll ever come out to them, but I will not hide the fact that I support gay rights. Not from anyone. Anyway I'm very interested in getting to know people in Ghana, particularly GLBT friends. Feel free to send me a personal message if you don't want to talk on the board. Hope to talk to you all soon!

I have added this new news tab (see top of this page) on the wiki. You can leave comments on some of the news issues. I think this will make the site more interactive and also more interesting to visit regularly because there is a whole lot of new information every day. All in one overview. Hope you enjoy this feature.

President Obama has on several occasions indicated his willingnes to advocate equal rights and opportunities for gays, last but not least the right of people who live openly as gays to serve in the military. The UN has for the first time tabled a motion to actively seek decriminalisation of homosexuality among member states. New president Atta-Mills has put improvement of human rights so all Ghanaians can feel safe in the country, as priority point on his agenda. The time is rife to start an active advocacy campaign and political lobby for decriminalisation of homosexuality and protection against discrimination.
