Why is it that so many developed countries have made peace with members of their population who are same gender attracted? They wish to enjoy harmonious relations by celebrating diversity in their population and treating each other with respect. There are so many economic and quality of life benefits that flow from such an enlightened approach. A nation divided aginst itself falls. This is a self evident truth. Nations that seek to impose a harsh interpretation of religious laws are the most troubled nations in the world today. The most extreme example is the Taliban. To them even watching TV is a sin. Clearly the understanding of people thousands of years ago was seriously flawed, even if their ideals found their way into the books that were chosen by the early Christian Church to make up the new and Old Testament. Beware what you read in the Bible and remember the cautionary words of the old spiritual song from the slavery days in the United States: 'The things that you're liable to read in the Bible, 'It aint necessarily so! Those words still ring true today. It's time Ghanaians applied 21st Century thinking to modern men and women. The world is watching: fundamentalist delusionals or a vibrant, progressive people that are in tune with modern thinking and social norms.
