Proverb: One man's meat may be another man's poison. Does that mean no-one should eat meat? Old Testament says eating shellfish is an abomination. New Testamant recinds Jewish declarations of uncleanliness on shellfish and pork, making them clean. No longer spiritual poison. What attracts one person to another is a thing called sexuality. God created humans with many different sexualities and preferences. Some people have an inate preference to use their left hand to pick a pen and write when 95% of us will go for the right hand to write. Does that mean we should not encourage left hand people to learn to write because we hate the idea of them using a different hand to what we may say to them is the natural and normal way? or should we punish the child, slapping the left hand every time it is used? The answer must be that God makes no mistakes. Accept that some people naturally choose to write with the left hand and in the same way the mind works in mysterious ways, should we not accept that some people are emotionally and romantically attracted to the same gender? God does not make mistakes. Left handedness and sexuality are human behaviour found in every country on Earth. The moral is not to encourage ignorance, not to blame God for mistakes in the diversity we see all around us. Ghana's religious leaders seem to be out of touch with the grave theats to life on Earth such as catastrophic climate change, overpopulation and risks to food security for future generations. They are distracted in a futile effort to influence people to change their God given preferences. Non-fertile human relationships may indeed be part of the ultimate solution to the real global issues of concern. But a consecus is only possible if deeper insight can be achieved in uniting population to the clear and present dangers facing humanity.
